Her parents are Harvey Welker, a Native American father, along with Julie Welker, an African American mother. Her mother works as an agent in real estate while her father works as an engineer. Her graduation from Germantown Friends School in the city of Germantown in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, in 1994. In 1998, Walker earned a bachelor's of arts diploma from Harvard College. Welker is since the age of 20 with John Hughes who is a well known marketing director of Merck Philadelphia. John and Sheila are parents to two kids. They began to have an affair.
