Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born on March 24, 1977, is an American actress. Her films that focus on feminist themes are her mainstay. Her work has earned her numerous awards, including an Academy Award as well as the Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most influential persons worldwide in 2012. Chastain was drawn to acting from an early age and made her stage debut in 1998 in Shakespeare's Juliet. After studying acting at Juilliard School, she was given a talent deal with John Wells. She was frequent guest on a variety of television shows as well as starring in many stage productions. Her film debut came in Jolene (2008) at 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough through six film projects, which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). Chastain was also considered for Academy Award nominations as a role in The Help (2011), where she played a aspiring socialite. Then she appeared in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as a CIA analyst. The science fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were commercially more successful. Chastain was acknowledged for her performance as a strong-willed woman such as in the dramas Most Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She was also a part of the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (1921). She went on to portray Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) and won the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain is the founder of production firm Freckle Films, which was designed to increase the inclusion of diverse film makers. She is an investor in the soccer club Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on mental health issues as the issue of gender and race equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her spouse.
